#FeathersUP is an Indigenous social justice movement that got its start on social media. It refers to an old tradition amongst Great Plains Tribes, a sort of unspoken code or message that they sent to each other with their coup feathers: if they wore their feathers down or relaxed, the tribes were enjoying a period of peace, but if they wore their feathers up, they were at war. Even after the "Great Sioux Wars" were over and the Lakota delegates went to Washington DC to speak to the government, in the photos that were taken there, the Lakota men wore their feathers standing up. It signaled that they were still at war - not with weapons, but with words, to protect their culture and their rights under the treaties.

These stickers measure 3" (7.8 cm) tall and 2.25" (5.7 cm) wide at their widest point. They come printed individually and backed with easy-to-peel wax paper.
